Our History

TACE Region 8 is located in Greeley, Colorado at the University of Northern Colorado, within the College of Natural and Health Sciences and School of Human Sciences. Federal Region 8 includes the states of Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming. The professional staff at TACE Region 8 have long and extensive histories of improving knowledge, understanding rehabilitation problems, issues and effective strategies; increasing system effectiveness; building local capacity; and creating best practices among Vocational Rehabilitation agencies and within the field of rehabilitation in general.

UNC has been a mainstay in rehabilitation education since 1964 and has provided continuing education and technical assistance for rehabilitaiton professionals since 1974. CTAT has provided continuing education and technical assistance for 19 years, first at UNC and now as a division of Denver Options, a non-profit community rehabilitation program. Additionally, this team includes former administrators from State Vocational Rehabilitation agencies who have direct experience with monitoring, program improvement, human resources and technical assistance issues within the VR system.
